THE PLAINTIVE CRY (Nuri Granth – Vol. II - Page 1151)

There is only one single aspiration in my heart,
And that is my longing for you:
O Master of the flute! greatly athirst for you, I am today!

Full with anxiety for you, are my eyes,
And my limbs are afflicted with the malady
of separation from you!

Your eyes have bewitched me,
And your love-filled melody has anguished me!

Distressed I am , to see this condition of the motherland:
Pray hear the plaintive cry of this supplicant,
and come and grant me your protection!

O Master of Beauty! come and illumine my motherland,
with your radiance,
O Beloved! pray listen to my sobs, says Nuri!
